Downtown Parking 

The  Civic Center Parking Structure is the best deal in town for parking near movies, surrounding businesses, and civic institutions -- rates are half the cost of parking meters, paid hours end at 5:00pm instead of 6:00pm, and parking validation is available for some activities. 

The 341-space Civic Center Parking Structure located at 1416 Oak Street (between Santa Clara Ave and Lincoln Ave). The garage is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patrons pre-pay for parking for up to four hours between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays. The parking rate in the garage is $0.75 per hour.

The City also operates two surface parking lots in the Park Street district, along with street parking in front of the businesses. Hourly fees for all meters are in effect Monday - Saturday, 9:00am - 6:00pm.
 
Lot A is accessible from Park Ave between Central Ave and Santa Clara Ave

Lot C is accessible from both Central Ave and Alameda Ave between Oak St and Park St


Electric Car Charging Stations

There are three spaces with re-charging stations reserved for electric cars on the first floor of the Civic Center Garage. Payment for parking in these spaces is the same as all other spaces in the garage.


Bicycle Lockers

24 bike racks and 16 electronic BikeLink lockers (elockers) are located in the Civic Center Garage. BikeLink cards can be purchased at www.bikelink.org and can be used at any BikeLink locker located in the Bay Area.


Bus Transit

AC Transit serves the east end of Alameda via the W, 51A, 20, and 21 bus lines. These move in and out of Alameda and connect to the BART stations at Fruitvale and in Downtown Oakland.

Alameda Loop Shuttle

The Alameda Loop Shuttle provides a way for people to get around Alameda for free. The shuttle operates three loops that run on Tuesday (West Loop), Wednesday (East Loop), and Thursday (Central Loop) from 8:30am to 4:00pm. Each loop brings passengers to Downtown Alameda every half hour with stops that include Kaiser Permanente, Alameda Theatre & Cineplex, and the Alameda Main Library. The service is open to all, and provides preferential seating for seniors and people with disabilities.
